Front pricing is $25 per seat a month for Starter, $65 for Professional and $105 for Enterprise on annual billing, or about $33 and $86 month to month for the first two. Autopilot, Front's AI agent, is billed on top of every plan at $0.05 per triaged conversation, $0.39 per handoff and $0.89 per resolution. For eight seats on Professional handling 2,000 conversations a month, the real Front cost is about $1,300 to $1,700, and more than half of it is Autopilot.
How much does Front cost?
These figures come from front.com/pricing, read on October 6, 2026. The page defaults to annual billing and advertises a 24 percent saving over paying monthly. All prices are US dollars per seat a month.
| Plan | Annual | Monthly | Seats | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $25 | about $33 | Up to 10 | Shared inbox for one channel type, rules, templates, basic analytics |
| Professional | $65 | about $86 | Up to 50 | Every channel, live chat, SLAs, advanced rules and analytics, Smart QA and Smart CSAT available as add ons |
| Enterprise | $105 | about $138 (by sales) | No cap | Copilot, Smart QA and Smart CSAT included, advanced security and permissions |
Front's page shows about $33 for Starter and $86 for Professional when you flip the toggle to monthly. Enterprise is sold through sales; the $138 is the annual price with the advertised 24 percent discount removed, so treat it as an estimate. There is no free plan. The 14 day trial gives you every Professional feature without a credit card.
How much does Front Autopilot cost?
Front's pricing page only says Autopilot starts at $0.05 a conversation. Front's help center gives the full rate card, and it is a three level scale. Each conversation is billed once, at the highest level Autopilot reached on it:
- Triage, $0.05. Autopilot reads the conversation well enough to tag, summarize, classify and route it.
- Handoff, $0.39. Autopilot carries out one or more tasks that end with a teammate taking over, such as running a Playbook that collects details first.
- Resolution, $0.89. Autopilot fully resolves the conversation without any human reply.
It is pay as you go, invoiced monthly on actual usage, and you turn it on from the billing settings page. Note that the add on renews with your subscription unless you change it in the upcoming plan tab before renewal.
The handoff line is what most Front pricing guides leave out. If Autopilot resolves 40 percent of conversations and hands off the rest, 1,000 conversations cost $356 in resolutions plus $234 in handoffs, or $1.48 per conversation it actually closed. If you limit it to triage on topics it cannot close, the same month costs $386, or $0.97 per resolution. That configuration choice moves the bill by about 53 percent.
Front add ons and their prices
| Add on | Price | Plans | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copilot | $20 per seat a month | Add on for Starter and Professional, included in Enterprise | front.com/pricing |
| Smart QA | About $20 per seat a month | Add on for Professional, included in Enterprise | Third party price trackers |
| Smart CSAT | About $10 per seat a month | Add on for Professional, included in Enterprise | Third party price trackers |
| Autopilot | $0.05, $0.39 or $0.89 per conversation | All plans | Front help center |
| WhatsApp channel | Meta charges plus a 20 percent admin fee | Professional and Enterprise | front.com/pricing |
| API rate limit increase | $200 per 100 extra requests a minute, monthly | All plans | front.com/pricing |
Front's own page does not print the Smart QA and Smart CSAT prices, so the two figures above come from independent trackers that agree with each other. Confirm them on your quote. The trap they create is real either way: Professional with Copilot, Smart QA and Smart CSAT comes to about $115 a seat, $10 more than Enterprise at $105, which includes all three. If you want two or more of them, price Enterprise first.
Front seat caps and what the next hire costs
Starter stops at 10 seats and Professional at 50. The seat that crosses the line moves the whole team, not one person, to the next plan. On annual prices that looks like this:
- 10 seats on Starter cost $250 a month. 11 seats must be on Professional: $715. One hire adds $465.
- 50 seats on Professional cost $3,250. 51 seats must be on Enterprise: $5,355. One hire adds $2,105.
Starter also covers one channel type only. A ten person email team that wants to add live chat hits the same move to Professional, even with no new hire. Front contracts above $25,000 a year also carry a required onboarding package, priced separately, which is worth asking about before a team reaches about 33 Professional seats.
What Front really costs for a team
Here is the monthly bill for common team sizes on annual pricing, with Autopilot on every conversation, 40 percent resolved, and a range from the other 60 percent being only triaged to all of them being handed off.
| Team | Plan and seats | Conversations | Autopilot | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 seats | Starter, $125 | 1,000 | $386 to $590 | $511 to $715 |
| 8 seats | Professional, $520 | 2,000 | $772 to $1,180 | $1,292 to $1,700 |
| 15 seats | Professional, $975 | 5,000 | $1,930 to $2,950 | $2,905 to $3,925 |
| 30 seats | Professional, $1,950 | 10,000 | $3,860 to $5,900 | $5,810 to $7,850 |
| 51 seats | Enterprise, $5,355 | 15,000 | $5,790 to $8,850 | $11,145 to $14,205 |
From about eight seats up, Autopilot is the biggest line on the invoice. That is the number to manage. Seats are fixed by headcount; Autopilot spend is set by how you configure it and how good your knowledge base is.
Is Front worth the price?
For teams where support, account managers and operations all work the same customer email, often yes. Front is built so several people can comment on and hand off one thread without forwarding it around, and a ticketing tool does not do that well. If your volume is mostly one to one support email, you are paying for collaboration you do not use. Help Scout Standard has the same $25 entry seat, a 25 user cap instead of 10, and AI Answers at $0.75 per resolution with handoffs not billed, so it costs less than Front Starter at every volume. Missive keeps the shared inbox model at $14 to $36 a user. Our Front alternatives page prices eight competitors and a custom agent for one eight seat team at three volumes.
Before you renew, write down the renewal date, the notice window and the Autopilot rates on your order form, and keep them somewhere the whole team can see. Annual SaaS terms are easy to miss, and a simple contract management system that flags auto renewals 60 days out gives you time to renegotiate or move.
When does a custom AI agent cost less than Front Autopilot?
At a 40 percent resolution rate, Autopilot costs $0.39 to $0.59 for each conversation it handles. A custom agent on a current model costs about $0.05 a conversation in tokens, saving $0.34 to $0.54 per conversation. A lean build, about $440 a month of build cost, hosting and upkeep spread over two years, breaks even at about 815 to 1,310 conversations a month. An expensive build at about $1,750 a month needs about 3,240 to 5,210.
Price is often not the main reason to build. Autopilot works from your knowledge sources and Playbooks. A custom agent can also read contract terms, invoices or order status from your own systems and write replies and internal comments back through the Front API, so your team keeps the inbox it knows. Triage alone, the $0.05 tier, costs a fraction of a cent when you run it yourself.
If your volume is past those lines, describe it in a hire brief with the systems the agent must read, and get matched with chatbot developers, their rates and their delivery location up front. Test any agent on a few hundred past threads first; our guide to evaluating an AI agent before you ship it covers how. Front pricing questions buyers ask
Does Front have a free plan?
No. Front has no free plan. It offers a 14 day free trial with every Professional feature and no credit card required. After that the cheapest option is Starter at $25 a seat a month on annual billing, capped at 10 seats and one channel type.
Is Front charged per user?
Yes, per seat. Every teammate who works in Front needs a seat, and the plan you can buy depends on the seat count: up to 10 on Starter, up to 50 on Professional. Autopilot is the one usage based charge, billed per conversation on top of seats.
What is the difference between Front Starter and Professional?
Starter is $25 a seat for up to 10 seats and one channel type. Professional is $65 for up to 50 seats with email, chat, SMS and social channels together, plus SLAs, advanced rules and analytics. Most teams that add a second channel or an 11th person have to move to Professional.
How much is Front for a team of 10?
$250 a month on Starter, $650 on Professional or $1,050 on Enterprise with annual billing, before Autopilot. At 1,500 conversations with 40 percent resolved, add about $580 to $885 of Autopilot depending on how many of the rest it hands off.
