Freshdesk pricing is $19 per agent a month on Growth, $55 on Pro and $89 on Enterprise, billed annually. The Freddy AI Agent costs $49 per 100 sessions ($0.49 each) after a one-time 500, and Freddy AI Copilot adds $29 per agent a month on Pro and Enterprise. For an eight agent Pro team whose AI touches 5,000 tickets a month, the real Freshdesk cost is about $2,890 a month, and 85 percent of it is the AI line.
How much does Freshdesk cost?
These figures come from freshworks.com/freshdesk/pricing, read in late September 2026 with the annual toggle on. The page labels annual billing "Save 20%" and does not print the monthly-billing price next to it.
| Plan | Per agent, annual | Day pass | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $19 a month | $2 | Ticketing, shared inbox, knowledge base, automations, reports. No skill based routing, no Copilot |
| Pro | $55 a month | $7 | Skill based routing, multilingual helpdesk, Freddy AI Copilot available as an add-on |
| Enterprise | $89 a month | $12 | Freddy AI Insights, audit logs, IP whitelisting, Copilot available as an add-on |
| Freddy AI Agent | $49 per 100 sessions | n/a | 500 sessions once on a new account, then billed per session |
| Freddy AI Copilot | $29 per agent a month | n/a | Drafting, summaries and suggestions for your human agents, Pro and Enterprise only |
| Connector app tasks | $80 per 5,000 tasks | n/a | Workflow tasks run through connector apps |
| MCP actions | $15 per 1,000 actions | n/a | Actions run against outside tools through MCP |
There is no permanent free plan on the page; new signups get 14 days on Enterprise. If the 20 percent annual saving is taken off the monthly price, monthly billing would sit near $23.75 for Growth, $68.75 for Pro and $111.25 for Enterprise. That is our arithmetic rather than a printed figure, so confirm it at checkout if you need to stay monthly.
Did Freshdesk raise its prices?
Yes. A pricing tracker that archived the previous page in July 2026 lists the old annual prices as $15 for Growth, $49 for Pro and $79 for Enterprise. The new figures are $19, $55 and $89. Growth rose about 27 percent and the other two about 12 to 13 percent, the first seat increase in roughly five years. For a ten agent Pro team the change is $60 a month, or $720 a year, before any AI.
How much does Freddy AI cost?
Freddy comes in two parts with two different meters, and it pays to keep them apart.
Freddy AI Copilot is for your own agents. It drafts replies, summarizes long threads and suggests next steps. It costs $29 per agent a month on annual billing and is only sold on Pro and Enterprise, so a Growth team that wants it has to move up a tier first. At a loaded labor cost of $35 an hour, Copilot pays for itself if it saves each agent about 50 minutes a month, which is a low bar for anyone writing replies all day.
Freddy AI Agent talks to your customers. It is billed per session: $49 for a pack of 100, so $0.49 each. A session is every exchange with one customer inside a 24 hour window on chat, or a 72 hour window starting at the first email on the Email AI Agent. However many messages fly inside that window, it is one session. New accounts get 500 sessions once. They are a starting allowance, not a monthly one, so from the second month on every session is paid.

What does a Freddy AI resolution really cost?
The session price is not the price of a solved ticket. Freshdesk bills the session whether Freddy resolves the conversation or hands it to a person, so the cost per resolved ticket is $0.49 divided by your resolution rate. Here is how that compares with the vendors that bill only for outcomes.
| AI and unit | At 25% resolved | At 40% | At 60% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freshdesk Freddy AI Agent, $0.49 per session | $1.96 | $1.23 | $0.82 |
| Intercom Fin, $0.99 per outcome | $0.99 | $0.99 | $0.99 |
| Help Scout AI Answers, $0.75 per resolution | $0.75 | $0.75 | $0.75 |
| HubSpot Customer Agent, 50 credits per resolution | $0.50 | $0.50 | $0.50 |
| Custom agent, about $0.05 of tokens per conversation | $0.20 | $0.13 | $0.08 |
The crossover with Intercom Fin sits near a 50 percent resolution rate. Below it, Fin's flat $0.99 per outcome is the cheaper AI; above it, Freddy is. Most teams start well under 50 percent while the knowledge base catches up, which is why the first months on Freddy are the most expensive per solved ticket. The custom row leaves out fixed build and hosting cost, covered further down. Fin's own bill, seats included, is broken down in our Intercom Fin pricing post.
What does Freshdesk cost for 5, 10 and 25 agents?
Pro plan, annual billing, and an AI Agent that touches about 300 tickets per agent a month. The one-time 500 sessions are left out because they are gone by the second month.
| Per month | 5 agents, 1,500 tickets | 10 agents, 3,000 | 25 agents, 7,500 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro seats | $275 | $550 | $1,375 |
| Freddy AI Agent sessions | $735 | $1,470 | $3,675 |
| Total without Copilot | $1,010 | $2,020 | $5,050 |
| Freddy AI Copilot | $145 | $290 | $725 |
| Total with Copilot | $1,155 | $2,310 | $5,775 |
| Same team on Growth, seats only | $95 | $190 | $475 |
Two things stand out. The seat bill is small; the session bill is two to three times larger at every size. And the jump from Growth to Pro is mostly about routing: skill based routing starts on Pro, so a ten agent team pays $360 a month more to have tickets land with the right person automatically. Some teams get the same result on Growth with separate task assignment software that routes each ticket by skill and workload, which is worth pricing before you upgrade every seat for one feature.
When are Freshdesk day passes cheaper than a seat?
Day passes let an occasional agent work a full day without a seat: $2 on Growth, $7 on Pro and $12 on Enterprise. Divide the seat price by the pass price and you get the break-even.
- Growth. $19 / $2 = 9.5 days. Anyone working 9 days a month or fewer is cheaper on passes.
- Pro. $55 / $7 = about 7.9 days. Passes win up to 7 days a month.
- Enterprise. $89 / $12 = about 7.4 days. Passes win up to 7 days a month.
That makes passes a good fit for managers who step into the queue on Mondays, engineers who answer escalations, and holiday cover. A full-time agent on passes would cost $154 a month on Pro across 22 working days, almost three times the seat.
Is Freshdesk worth it, or should you build the AI part?
Freshdesk's seats are among the cheapest real helpdesk seats you can buy, and its API is open on every paid plan. The expensive part is Freddy's per session meter, and that part can be replaced while you keep the helpdesk.
A custom support agent that answers from your knowledge base, looks up account data through your own APIs and writes back to Freshdesk is typically 60 to 160 hours of work. With the build spread over two years plus hosting and upkeep, that is about $440 to $1,750 a month of fixed cost, and then about $0.05 of model tokens per conversation. Against Freddy at $0.49 a session:
- Lean build ($440 fixed). Cheaper than Freddy from about 1,000 sessions a month ($440 + 1,000 x $0.05 = $490, against 1,000 x $0.49 = $490).
- Expensive build ($1,750 fixed). Crosses Freddy at about 4,000 sessions a month.
- Under about 1,000 sessions a month, Freddy is the cheaper and faster choice, and the one-time 500 sessions let you test it for free.
If the numbers point to a build, describe your volume, your Freshdesk plan, the systems the agent must read and what it may do in a hire brief, and get matched with chatbot developers with their rates up front. If you are weighing a move off Freshdesk altogether, our Freshdesk alternatives page prices Zendesk, Help Scout, HubSpot, Intercom, Zoho Desk and a custom agent for the same eight agent team (the cheapest of them is covered in our Zoho Desk pricing breakdown), and the wider build or buy comparison is on our AI customer service page.
Freshdesk pricing questions buyers ask
Is Freshdesk free?
No permanent free plan is listed on the pricing page. New accounts get a 14 day trial of Enterprise, and reviews describe a startup program that covers small teams for a limited period. After that, the cheapest paid seat is Growth at $19 per agent a month on annual billing.
Does Freshdesk charge per agent or per ticket?
Per agent for the helpdesk, with no ticket limit on the plans. The AI is the exception: the Freddy AI Agent is billed per customer session at $0.49, so the bill grows with ticket volume once AI is switched on, even though the seats do not.
Do Freddy AI sessions roll over?
Reviews of the current terms say unused sessions expire rather than roll over, and the 500 included sessions are a one-time allowance on new accounts. Buy packs close to what you use each month rather than stocking up.
Is Freshdesk cheaper than Zendesk?
On seats they match: Freshdesk Pro and Zendesk Suite Team are both $55 per agent a month on annual billing, and both entry tiers are $19. With AI, Freshdesk is usually cheaper, because Zendesk bills $1.50 to $2.00 per verified resolution after a small per seat allowance, against $1.23 per Freddy resolution at a 40 percent rate. Our Zendesk pricing post breaks down every Zendesk plan and add-on.
